Hey guys. I was commenting on a post earlier, and in it I said that my favorite "type" of name for girls is "long, feminine sounding, a bit unique without being too strange"
That is the best way I can describe the type of names I gravitate towards. What names do you guys think fit that description?
for example my number one girl name is Valentina.
I also like Adelaide, Constantina and Victoria.

16th-Dec-2009 10:01 am - Vote JOE!
I did have a quick scan back through recent posts, although if I've missed this and it's already been posted I apologise.

Over here in the UK there is a show called The X Factor which is pretty much the same as American Idol - Simon Cowell is one of the judges. Anyway, as with Idol, it's massive, and the final last week saw 19.1 million people tune in to see Joe McElderry named this years winner.

The reason I mention it here is because some of his supporters took it to a whole new level:

Just wondering what people thought?

How do you feel about "reusing" names of celebrities?

Would you name a daughter "Evangeline Lilly" or a son "Michael Jordan" as first and middle name? What if you share the same last name as someone famous... would you have your own little "Will Smith" or "Britney Spears"? What about fictional characters? If your last name is Bauer, would you name your son Jack? What about mixing up unisex names? Say your last name is Freeman. Would you have a daughter named Morgan?

All of those names are just examples. I'm mostly just asking about the idea of it. Idea brought to you by my boyfriend and I joking about naming a child "Arnold" when his last name is Palmer.

15th-Dec-2009 09:46 pm - Children of friends...
My friend, Ashley Nicole, and her husband, David Anthony, have two children. Gabriel Anthony Ryan (Gabe, 3) and Madeline Isabella Bliss (Madibelle, 1). Anthony was in memory of a childhood friend of her husband who passed away and Ryan was in memory of a childhood friend of hers who passed away. When Madeline was born, they wanted both kids to have the same number of names and the same number of syllables.

Ashley's friend, Megan, recently had to move in with them. She has two sons, Gavin and Mason, and is expecting a girl she plans to name Lyric.

WDYT?
